about

a bit more about me

I'm Sara. I grew up in Tehran and moved to Toronto in 2019 with two suitcases and a wildly underprepared spreadsheet. The first six months were rough — wrong neighborhood, wrong bank, wrong assumptions about what Canadian employers actually want on a CV. By year two I had Express Entry sorted, a tech job I genuinely liked, and a network of friends who were going through the same thing.

I started mentoring informally for friends-of-friends back home, and it slowly turned into the thing I love most. Most of what I share isn't in any official guide — it's the small calls (which neighborhood to rent in for month one, which insurance to skip, when to push for a salary bump) that make the difference between surviving and actually building a life.

Sara saved me from booking a sketchy first apartment and rewrote my CV in a way that finally got callbacks. Felt like talking to a friend who's been there.

She was super honest about what Express Entry actually looks like month to month. No sugarcoating, no upsell. Worth every minute.

Kourosh A.

Loved the practical tips on banking and SIN. Wish we'd had more time on tax stuff but that's on me for picking the short session.

Tehran kid who landed in London eight years ago on a Skilled Worker visa. I'll be honest about the weird tax stuff, the awkward interviews, and the little things nobody warned me about — because nobody warned me either.

Moved my whole family from Shiraz to Melbourne in 2016. I can share what worked for us with the PR application, picking schools for the kids, and the small cultural shifts that took a while to feel normal.
